How Turmeric is Beneficial for your Face?

1. Facial Mask for Dry skin

Do you have a dry skin? if you have a dry skin you can make and try this face mask by combining these ingredients:

a. 1 Egg white

b. 2 drops of Olive oil

c. Fresh lime juice

d. Rose water

e. A pinch of turmeric

f. Mix all the ingredients mentioned above and apply on the dry areas such as face, elbow, neck or any other.

g. Let it get dry and then rinse it off with lukewarm water.

2. Facial mask for oily skin

Another benefit of turmeric is that, it is beneficial for your oily skin as it regulates the production of sebum, which is produced by the sebaceous glands.

For oily skin you can try this paste:

a. Take 1 ½ tablespoons of sandalwood powder as sandalwood acts as an astringent.

b. A pinch of ground turmeric and 3 tablespoons of orange juice.

c. Mix all the ingredients well and then apply it on your face.

d. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and then rinse it off with lukewarm water.

3. Turmeric Treats Acne

 
Turmeric has antiseptic and antibacterial properties which helps fight against acne and pimples. You can prepare this paste and clear your acne scars.

a. Take turmeric powder, sandalwood powder, and few drops of lemon juice.

b. Mix and well and apply the paste on your face.

c. Leave it for 10 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water.

OR

a. You can also simply mix turmeric powder and plain water or rose water.

b. Apply the paste on your acne scars for 15 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water.

4. Turmeric on face treats wrinkles

Turmeric reduces fine lines and treats wrinkles. Prepare this paste and see how it works on your skin.

a. Mi x turmeric powder, and rice powder with raw milk.

b. Also add few drops of tomato juice and apply it on your face and neck.

c. Leave this mask for 30 minutes and later rinse it off with lukewarm water to get a bright and wrinkle free skin.

OR

a. You can also add turmeric powder in buttermilk and sugarcane juice.

b. Mix it well and apply the paste on your face.

c. Leave it for 15-20 minutes to let it dry and then rinse off with lukewarm water.

This is the best homemade treatment for dark circles and wrinkles.

5. Treats signs of ageing

Being an excellent exfoliating agent, turmeric help you beat the signs of ageing and provides a great relief to ageing skin. Make a paste by using these ingredients to get the best results.

a. Add gram flour (besan) and turmeric powder in equal proportions with water.

b. You can alternatively prepare this paste by using yogurt or raw milk instead by plain water.

c. Apply the paste evenly on your face or body and let it dry.

d. Rinse off with lukewarm water once it is dried.

e. Also scrub your face gently in circular motion to get a gorgeous, younger looking skin.

Kerala Tourism gets nod for seaplane services

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government on Wednesday gave its go ahead to the Kerala Tourism to launch seaplane services to boost tourism.
"It has been decided to go ahead with seaplane operations which will boost tourism activities in the state," Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told reporters after the weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
"Authorities have been asked to go ahead and begin talks with seaplane operators to begin operations," he added.
In June 2013, seaplane operations were inaugurated but it were kept on hold following strong protests from the fishing community as they feared that their livelihood will be affected.
"Yes, there were issues. At certain places we have been able to convince those who had fears and while at some other places our talks are continuing. Hence, we have decided to begin operations where there will be no resistance," said Chandy.
The places, the tourism department identified for seaplane services, include Kollam, Alapuzha, Bekal (Kasargode) Bolgatty (in Kochi) Wayanad and Munnar.
Generally seaplane services are operated by aircraft that can take six to eight passengers and these aircraft can fly around 6,500 feet above ground which is expected to provide a breathtaking view of the greenery which Kerala is known for.

Varkala can soon boast of world class aquarium

Varkala: If things go as planned, a huge aquarium will soon come up here in Varkala, offering a visual treat of colours. The four-storey spiral building is coming up in the compound of a shrimp hatchery in Odayam. Work is progressing in such a way that the facility can be opened during Onam.
It will give visitors to the coast of Varkala a visual treat of rare fish and other creatures, both local and foreign, which live in fresh water and the sea. A central pool, which will welcome visitors, will be the main attraction of the aquarium. It will be possible to touch big fish in this pool.
From there, visitors circling up the stairs will be able to see fish and other aquatic creatures in large glass containers. Another attraction will be a tall cylindrical aquarium. A 3D theatre is also being built to introduce the sea to children. The top floor will have a restaurant. The total cost of construction is 3.5 crore rupees, said hatchery manager E. Najeeb.
The aquarium, coming up under the aegis of the Agency for Development of Aquaculture, Kerala (ADAK), will initially have cone fish, butterfly, sergeant, flat, jelly, damsel, eel, etc.
People connected to the aquarium say it will have a bigger collection than the aquarium run by the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute in Vizhinjam. It will have about 80 tanks that are 4-8 feet in size. The aquarium, which is coming up alongside the hatchery that started operations in 2006, is built by Costford.
The hatchery has earned profits for the fifth year in a row.Once the aquarium is ready, it will give a big boost to ADAK. A meeting, chaired by Varkala Kahar MLA, reviewed the progress of the project the other day.

Turmeric milk or Golden Milk is a great way to get the benefits of Turmeric daily. Make it a habit to have this before bed as it aids relaxation and helps boost the immune system while sleeping.

Take an inch-long stick of turmeric. Remember that turmeric powder is never as effective as crushed turmeric sticks, because the chances of contamination in the powder are high, plus its efficacy is also bound to reduce during the heat-generating grinding process. So, take a stick of turmeric (the variety used in cooking; varali manjal in Thamizh) and crush it coarsely using a mortar and pestle.
2. Crush a few peppercorns too. The white variety is better.
3. Mix a cup of water with a cup of milk, add the crushed turmeric and pepper and bring to a boil.
4. Simmer for 20 minutes. By this time, the milk will reduce to a cup.
5. Remove from the stove, filter, add a spoonful of honey or palm sugar, and enjoy the drink warm.
6. If you are taking this to relieve a sore throat, add 1/2 teaspoon of ghee to the hot turmeric milk before drinking it. The ghee will melt and coat your throat, relieving you of cough as well.
Note: The most important part is to sit and relax with this cuppa for a few minutes, relishing its soothing flavour and rustic aroma!
